Bissan is a Registered Dietitian who has been practicing since 2018 and is also a Certified Diabetes Educator. She has experience across primary care, community health, long-term care, and clinical settings, where she supports patients with a wide range of health conditions and nutrition concerns. She has a strong interest in diabetes management and helping patients build practical, sustainable nutrition habits.
Bissan specializes in supporting individuals managing chronic health conditions, including prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, cholesterol management, weight management, iron-deficiency anemia, and gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). She also has a special interest in supporting patients who experience emotional eating, helping them develop a balanced relationship with food.
Bissan uses a collaborative, patient-centred approach that incorporates motivational interviewing and realistic goal-setting to help patients make sustainable lifestyle changes. She enjoys helping patients identify nutritious, budget-friendly options and practical strategies for healthy eating on the go.
Bissan holds a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition, with a major in Psychology, from Western University. She is registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and is fluent in English and Arabic.
Outside of work, Bissan enjoys exploring local hiking trails, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends.
